The Smokey Shadow Palette

The NYX Smokey Eye Palette is the more dramatic alternative to the 6-pan Natural Eyeshadow Palette. While I wasn't terribly impressed with the shadows in the latter, the Smokey Palette offers better quality and a little more variety. From the left, the palette includes a grey with silver glitter, a matte black, a soft deep plum, a deep denim blue, a satin bronze, and a sating white. All of the shadows are smooth, and all but the glittery shadow apply evenly. Unfortunately, the blue and purple left a lot to be desired when it comes to color payoff. Packed over a white base, they perform slightly better, but take a little more work to get them to reach the pan color. The glittery shadow works well as a top coat of sorts to add some pizzazz to the color underneath, but it takes a little working with to get it completely opaque. I was happy to see that they balanced this palette with two lighter shades - one of which is a brown tone. Running a soft brown through the crease of a smoky look can help blend everything out and soften the look without taking away the edge of the smokiness. This palette isn't superb, but at $6.99 I think it would be a great, inexpensive purchase for someone who wants to dabble in the art of the smoky eye. It's balanced well with both deep, smoky shades and light highlight and blending colors, so it's just a matter of whether you like the color combination and don't mind working with a few of the shades to get maximum color payoff. Using a white eyeshadow base like the NYX White Shadow Base can help the shadows not only stick, but enhance the pigmentation.

Value for money. Good quality and pigmented. Not easily blended on dry skin, but with good eye primer things will be settled. I like the compact size, easy for traveling. Applicator quality is not so good. Limited choice of color it gets boring sometimes.

I like most of the colors except for the brown one, it's glittery and doesn't seem blend well with other color. The color pigment is so so and the bright side is I can use it everyday, because of it :)

Ga sesuai ekspektasi. Warnanya kurang "timbul" apalagi untuk kulit yang cenderung kering. Hanya warna hitam dan grey nya yang bisa stand out. Untuk diblend juga kurang. But, it's okay lah buat yang baru belajar smokey eyes.

Hanya murah, cocok untuk pemula. Warna smokey nya juga cakep-cakep.Teksturnya cukup powdery dan banyak fallout kalo dipake. Dan jeleknya adalah warnanya susah banget keluar. Mesti pake spons basah baru bisa keluar. Terus ga tahan.lama. beberapa jam aja uda pudar dan ga keliatan blending warnanya.Considering the price, it's not a big problem. Ok lah untuk simple daily makeup

Pertama kali liat warnanya langsung naksir berat, karna kebetulan aku pecinta eye shadow dengan warna-warna smokey dan senang dengan riasan smokey eyes tapi tetep natural. Ini warnanya bagus banget, tapi sayang sungguh amat disayangkan pas aku coba swatch warna gak pigmented dan gak keluar huhu really sad... untuk pakai shadow pallet yang satu ini aku harus pake nyx eye base yang warna putih, baru bisa keliatan warnanya. jujur masih kurang pigmented ya dikulit aku. So far untuk tone warna-warnanya aku suka.

untuk shadow palette ini emang agak kecewa sih, ngga sesuai ekspektasi dan mesti pake base dulu supaya warnanya lebih keliatan soalnya warnanya juga kan agak agak smokey gimana gitu takutnya kalau ngga pake base warnanya malah ilang ilangan dan jadinya jelek

Not the one I love! Got this as a gift for my first makeup experience. Turned out I got the bad one.. Very chalky, not pigmented, bad applicator. Suggestion if you want to add more pigment for these colors, use primer. I don't know if it will help, but using it bare eyes won't make your eyes look pretty...
